What does the Bible say about heaven? In these 60 delightful rhyming stories with special Bible verses and charming illustrations, children will get a clear picture of what their forever home is like!

They’ll learn the Bible’s answers to big questions!

  • What is heaven like?
  • How do we get there?
  • How do we live like Jesus until then?

The First Steps book Heaven is the perfect “beginner’s book” for helping children discover the beauty and blessing of heaven while gaining inspiration for living their earthly lives in a way that is pleasing to God.

My review:

This is a beautiful book and a helpful tool to help answers questions children have about heaven and God.  When we talk to our children about heaven, naturally they have questions.  Sometimes is can be difficult to answer their questions in a way that satisfies their interest.

This book can help parents answer some of the questions that young children have.  The age range given in the description is 5 – 8 years.  I think it is great for kids at the younger end of that scale, maybe 4 – 6 year olds would enjoy it the most.  The rhyming stories have a nice rhythm to them and appeal to children, while the lovely pictures help to hold the attention of non-readers.

I also like the way Elkins included Bible verses thoughout the book.  I think it helps children to see that the descriptions from the book come directly from the Bible and that the Bible is our source of information about heaven and Jesus.

All together, this is a great book that would appeal to many children.  It would also make a great gift, so if you are looking for a book for a younger child, check this one out!
