I have read Dr. Dukan’s previous books, so I was really excited to read this one. After reading it, I was inspired to give the Dukan diet another go-round. This book really is the Dukan Diet made easy. It is a streamlined approach to the diet and super easy to follow.
The best part about this book is that it is easy to read and follow. Each phase clearly delineates what should and should not be eaten and is really easy to refer back to the pages as necessary for the 68 and 100 foods that can be eaten, depending on what phase you are in. I also appreciated the big boxes with tips and tricks to help readers.
There is no denying that the Dukan diet is not an easy one to follow. As a long-time Atkins girl, I was already familiar with a low-carb approach to life. However, as my friend puts it, Dukan is Atkins extreme. It couples the low-carb with low-fat. It is an adjustment to give up full-fat cheese and half-and-half in my coffee.
If you are motivated and committed, there is no denying that the Dukan diet is effective. There is the excitement of reaching your goal and then only having to restrict yourself one day a week. If you are looking for an effective diet and are highly motivated, this might be worth a look for you. As always, be sure to check with your doctor before beginning any diet program.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
