Becoming God’s True Woman…While I Still Have a Curfew by Susan Hunt & Mary A. Kassian

Authors Susan Hunt and Mary Kassian provide teen girls with a devotional guiding them to answers to questions such as “What does God’s Word say about things like beauty, friendships, guys, and dating?”  Filled with with biblical truths to help readers make smart choices, Susan and Mary share stories from other teens and provide “Time for You” journaling sections to encourage readers to record their thoughts as they go through the book.

This is a beautiful book that holds a lot of appeal for teen girls.  It touches on a lot of subjects that girls need to address as they navigate their teen years such as relationships, modesty, femininity, boundaries, and hypocrisy.  I love the way each topic is discussed through a biblical worldview and then explored further through the journaling questions to personalize the lessons.

I especially enjoyed the lessons dealing with the “wild woman” in Proverbs who personifies the opposite characteristics of the wise woman.  I learned a lot!  Even though the book is geared toward teens, there are a lot of valuable nuggets for any woman striving to become God’s True Woman.  This would be a great book for moms and daughters to work through together.

If you are looking for a book with valuable life lessons for teen girls, look no further.  So many lessons given in this book are vitally important for girls to “get right”.  If you are a parent who is concerned about how to share the wisdom you’ve acquired, but unsure of how to start the conversation, I think this book would be very helpful.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Moody Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion.  All thoughts are my own.
